About This Special Issue
With the rapid extension of networked world-wide markets, today’s manufacturing companies have found new competitive factors instead of quality, productivity etc. Of the competitive factors, logistics optimization is becoming inevitable reality in today’s business world. Some researchers recently observed that the companies with optimal (or effective) logistics network enjoyed more cost savings, more inventory reduction, and higher customer services than those with ineffective logistics network. Especially, evolutionary computation techniques such as genetic algorithm, genetic programming, evolutionary programming, evolutionary strategy, particle swam optimization, etc. have been successfully applied to logistics optimization problems.
The purpose of this special issue is to promote, exchange and disseminate information and research results on the logistics optimization using evolutionary computation techniques. This special issue will address many important problems of interest in this area. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
1. Enterprise integration
2. Global manufacturing
3. Other production and manufacturing-related topics
4. Logistics or supply chain management
5. Green design/production /manufacturing
6. Reverse logistics
7. Soft computing/ meta-heuristics methods
8. Genetic algorithm, genetic programming, evolutionary programming, evolutionary strategy, particle swam optimization, etc.
9. Other intelligent-related algorithms
